Return sermon shared Friday, October 16, 2015.
In this lesson, we study the concept of "Walking with God.”
Enoch walked with God and God took him. There are many scriptures in the Old Testament where God tells us to walk in His law.
In Galatians 5 of the New Testament, the Bible tells us to walk in the Spirit. Accordingly, the Bible tells us that...
We are not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ; therefore, we should not put 90% of our faith in Jesus and 10% of our faith in the Old Testament law just to make sure we are OK. This is what the early Christian Jews did - they put their faith in Jesus, but they held on to the circumcision and their dietary laws.
Many Christians today put their faith is Jesus, but they go back and pick up a few Old Testament laws and add to the mix, even though a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump (Galatians 5:9). Walking in the Spirit is tuning out the voices of the world, the flesh, and the Devil and tuning in to the voice of the Holy Spirit. As we hear His voice, then we simply obey Him and come under the government of God continually in our daily lives.
