Return sermon shared on Sunday, March 13, 2016.
The enemy has Strongholds in our minds that need to be violently cast down and destroyed.
Repentance means to change our mind, or to change our thinking. As we allow ungodly ideologies to stay in our minds, these lies have the power to control our lives and produce ungodly behaviors. Jesus warned us to beware of the leaven of Herod and the leaven of the Pharisees (Mark 8:15). The Pharisees had a dogma that was not Christ-centered. They studied the scriptures to try and find eternal life, all the while that Jesus Christ (Eternal Life) walked among them and spoke to them; they did not even recognize him.
If our study of the scriptures doesn’t produce love in our lives, it is apparent that we have strongholds in our minds that are satanic or demonic in nature. The good news is that we win this spiritual warfare, because Jesus has destroyed the power of the enemy at the cross. Now He wants us to replace the lies with the Truth and begin looking at God, ourselves, others, and life in general the way that God looks at things.
Spiritual warfare is more about the fight going on in our mind and less about the demon in the room.
