God’s Word and Spirit are symbolized in the Bible as water. As the rain waters the earth so does the Word of God water our hearts. Revival is the life of Jesus Christ poured into the human heart. In order for us to be filled with God’s Word and Spirit, we need broken wills and clean cups. Isaiah 35 is a beautiful chapter in God’s Word that talks about streams in the desert, where God makes the desert bloom and blossom. In II Kings 3, we see that Israel and Judah were told to dig ditches before God would send the water they so desperately needed. We are to dig ditches in our hearts in order to make room for the waters of God. In Ezekiel 47, God shows us that the water begins ankle deep, then knee deep, then loin deep then waters to swim in. As we take the yoke of Jesus Christ, He will lead us to deeper waters.
