The Christmas story is all about God’s amazing grace. As we live our Christian lives, we will one day come to a fork in the road and we will have to choose to either please God or to trust God. The road of pleasing God turns into a lot of self-effort as we try to work on our sin problem and we develop a works based ideology full of self-confidence and self-righteousness. But when we walk down the path of trusting God, we find that by trusting God is the only way to please God. We are saved by grace, through faith. We need to learn to put our trust in the grace and love of God instead of trusting in our ability to save ourselves. Galatians 3:1-6 teaches us clearly that we are not saved by trying to keep the law of Moses, but instead we are saved by faith, or putting our trust in what Jesus Christ did for us 2,000 years ago. This lesson ended with a communion service as we reflect upon the grace of God in our lives this Christmas season.
