Communion, intimacy, unity, fellowship with God is found through the broken body and the poured out blood of Jesus Christ. Communion is in the thanking, the breaking and the giving. God breaks everything about us that is not established in a relationship with Him, or we could say that He breaks anything about us that tries to find our value, worth or identity outside of Christ. We are supposed to partake of communion in remembrance of Jesus, and the cross of calvary. If we can bring to our remembrance continually the finished work of Christ at the cross, then it will cause us to live gratefully covered by the grace of God instead of pridefully independent. We are to take our broken lives and have communion with God through the broken body and poured out blood of Jesus, then go to the broken people of the world and share God’s love with them. Abundance if found in the breaking and the giving.
