Christians and non-Christians have to suffer pain in this life, but for the believer, God has a purpose in our suffering. The most important thing for a believer to know is who God is and who we are in Christ. In Christ, we find our true identity and God loves us enough to break any and all false, temporal or idolatrous identities and He does so by allowing suffering in our lives. Job was a very good man, but God allowed Satan to cause Job great suffering. The Devil wanted to destroy Job, but God used it to save Job, to bring Job closer in his relationship with God. In this lesson, we explore the reason behind Job’s suffering that was ultimately for Job’s good and God’s glory.
