The God of Heaven and earth, the One true and living God, manifests Himself in three distinct entities, persons or rivers. These three are revealed as The Father, the Son (or Word), and The Holy Ghost.

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (I John 5:7).

Even though God manifests Himself as “three,” He is but One. There is only One God.

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (I Timothy 2:5)

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD” (Deuteronomy 6:4).

God created man in His Own likeness and image as a body, soul, and spirit. So also is God revealed as Father, Word, and Spirit. The three Persons of the Godhead are commonly called the Trinity.

Each manifestation of the Godhead has a distinct purpose or function that the others do not have. All function as one and are united by Purpose, Plan, Mind, Will and Nature or Name.

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you” (John 14:16-17).

As Jesus was baptized the Scriptures clearly demonstrate the Trinity, or the three Persons of God. As the Son was being baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him, and the Voice of the Father spoke from Heaven.

“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:16-17)

These three Persons of God are in complete Unity and Harmony. None of the Persons in the Godhead work independently of the others, but They glorify each other in complete compliance with the one Will of the Father.
